Paul Frey joined the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO in September 2014. Paul previously worked for the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce for over four years, first as Vice President and then as Acting President.
After graduating college in 1983, Paul worked for 20 years operating Roy Rogers Restaurants for a local entity specializing in the hospitality industry.
In 2001, Paul and his wife, Laurie, founded Clear Path Organization Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in helping organizations get results. Paul assisted businesses, community organizations, and nonprofit entities in getting results through innovation and accountability. Paul also worked in the franchising field, helping a number of organizations franchise their respective business models. Paul is a published author, as well as a fledgling inventor with one design patent to his name.
Paul earned an AA degree from Frederick Community College, a BS degree from Towson University, a MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and a MS in Organization Development from The Johns Hopkins University. Paul earned his I.O.M. designation, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce industry professional certification, in 2015.
Paul has remained active in the community throughout his career by volunteering his time and expertise to many nonprofit organizations. Some of the organizations include: the American Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Frederick County YMCA Annual Capital Campaign, Workforce Development Board, Frederick County Mental Health Association, Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council Capital Campaign, and as a Frederick County Crisis Hotline Volunteer. His accomplishments have been recognized by The Frederick County American Red Cross who named him Outstanding Board Member, and by Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council as Outstanding Volunteer of the Year. He was also selected for Frederick Magazine’s “People to Watch” Award in 2000.
